General settings. Trends, Formats of numbers
Trends
In the "Trends" tab, in the appropriate fields, you must specify:
- The names of three (any) "settlement" currencies - full and abbreviated (respectively - no more than 15 and 8 characters).
- The names of five trends, which can later be used in program calculations (no more than 60 symbols).
☛ Note that all plans in the program are calculated in one "system" currency. "Calculated" currencies, as an additional tool for project analysis, are used in three cases:
- To prepare a business plan in a different currency, when executing the export procedure in MS Word. The program makes a recalculation of all plans from the "system" currency to the specified currency at the rate taken from the user table. See section "Forecasting trends".
- To adjust the prices of sales and purchases (see the sections on the "sales plan. Adjustments to price series using moving averages" and
"procurement plan and standard costs. Modify plans with the use of moving averages"). - When calculating loan products. See "Example 2. Calculation of annuities under the standard formulae and in other currency" in the section "Credit products. Practical planning".
All internal payments are made in the currency that is specified in the settings ("General data → System currency").
Foreign currency loans and other financial receipts and payments are translated into "system" currency. The costs incurred (or profits received) are accounted for as "Other non-operating expenses or income" attributed to exchange differences (see "Credit products. Planning tools").
Budget-Plan Express is a software product for preparing business plans and presentations in Word and Excel format, optimal for small businesses and studies (for students, graduate students, MBI students, etc.)

Formats of numbers
In the tab "Formats of numbers" you can set:
- number of decimal places for the price (no more than 2 characters);
- number of decimal places in units of consumables intended for production (no more than 4 characters).
To calculate the number of consumables required for the production of a product unit, signs after the comma are rarely used, usually it is a unique production (for example, the production of perfume, chemical processing, etc.). If necessary, units of measurement are easily converted: for example, grams - in kilograms, in kilograms - in tons, in tons in tons, etc.
Do not set the number format for the number of sales. If necessary, the units of measurement are converted, in the most convenient for planning purposes: grams - in kilograms, kilograms - in tons, tons - in thousand tons, etc.
